IFAW

Dear Dr. Rj,

IFAW has just received a desperate plea from animal shelters in Cyprus.

As you may have seen in the news, a financial crisis led the government of Cyprus to freeze bank accounts in the country. Some banks are starting to re-open, but with severe restrictions on withdrawals.

Even the animal shelters have been shut out. Without access to money, the shelters are running out of food for the innocent animals in their care.

They've turned to IFAW with a desperate plea for help: please help us feed the starving animals of Cyprus!

Dr. Rj, you've helped us before - by taking action for animals, you've shown how committed you are to making the world better for animals. Now I'm hoping I can count on you again.

We're trying to raise $5,000 as quickly as possible. That should help us buy about two weeks' worth of food. If we raise more than $5,000, then we can help even more animals in Cyprus and wherever else they need us.

Cyprus is part of the European Union, and IFAW's EU office has arranged for delivery of emergency funds to a coalition of animal groups so that food can be bought and passed out among them.

We're also working on securing a food donation from a major dog food company and will arrange its delivery as soon as possible.

But we have to hurry. It's already been two weeks, and animals are starving. I'm not sure how long the animals will be able to hold on for.

With your help, we can make certain that the innocent animals are not shut out because of a financial crisis that they had nothing to do with.

Because of you, IFAW is known around the world as the group to call when animals are in peril like they are in Cyprus right now.

Please give today to help the animals in Cyprus and to help us provide food, comfort, care, and protection to animals wherever they need us.

Thanks for your help,

Worried about Donating online?

I used to be too… so I made sure our online system is safe, secure, and state-of-the-art. It also eliminates check-processing costs, so more money goes directly to saving animals. But if you prefer to donate by phone or mail, simply click here for address information.
