Dear Chrissie,

It’s that time of year again when we’re looking for your nominations for our 2015 Animal Action Awards. In conjunction with the Sunday Express newspaper, we want to find animal heroes from across the UK. Every year, IFAW honours the achievements of outstanding individuals who have made a significant contribution to animal welfare, at a prestigious ceremony at the House of Lords.

We need your help to find our Animal Action Award winners for 2015.

Last October, we honoured the achievements of 10 award winners for their outstanding work to help animals. We presented the awards at a ceremony hosted by Baroness Gale and naturalist and broadcaster Bill Oddie.

Last year's winners included:

  • Donna and Graham Street from the Isle of Wight, who rescue and rehabilitate injured and sick bats.
  • Vet Luke Gamble from the New Forest, who runs charities providing emergency vets and rabies control in areas of the world suffering disasters and extreme poverty.
  • Jan Bevington from Shetland for many years of dedicated work helping seals, otters and whales in need of rescue as a result of illness, injury, oil spills or strandings.

We're also looking for an animal award winner. Last year we were proud to honour nine-year-old Labrador Tyke - a former rescue dog about to retire from his work at Heathrow Airport sniffing out illegal wildlife trade with Border Force.

We would like to hear from you about any person or animal in the UK who you think deserves one of our 2015 Animal Action Awards. It could be someone who runs a rescue centre or a wildlife sanctuary, a volunteer who gives up their time to help animals or teach children all about them, a young fundraiser, a campaigner on animal or conservation issues, or a pet or working animal who has made a remarkable difference to someone's life.

The 2015 Animal Action Awards will be presented in October. Please ensure that you get your nomination in by 30 June.

Help us find this year's winners. Nominate your Animal Action Award hero today!

Thank you,
